Remnant’s Refuge is a social brand started by a grad student, striving for community outreach and creating a space for those looking for inspiration and words of affirmation. I worked directly with the enterprise’s founder to establish the brand's mission statement, goals, and tone. I kicked off the brand research process by establishing the current market landscape and ensuring that we would be able to stand out and reach our audience.
It was exciting to work on a brand identity fully from start to finish and be able to dig deep into the digital ecosystem of UI to best plan for the brand and its future.
When creating the logo, it was important to create something that would embody the spiritual concept of light, guidance, or a beacon, while avoiding any specific religious references. A key component of the community is to be inclusive and open to all. Once the logo signature was finalized, I created a brand guide complete with full brand standards, from logo usage to custom patterns, and more. I also created email campaigns and social media templates for the founder to be able to uphold her new brand style in a user-friendly way. To represent the brand's goals and uphold best practices, the templates needed to be accessible, easily edited, and sustainable for consistent use.
An adaptable grid system and interchangeable elements are key to customizable templates for each unique social and web post. My client and I worked closely to ensure that we created something that would work well for her current needs as well as stand the test of time.
